About Us

Janra Ranch is a small studio owned and operated by husband-wife team Jane Rhodes and Rand Brimhall. Situated in the foothills of the Sonoran Desert north of Phoenix, Janra Ranch is set among cacti and coyotes. The hills are riddled with 1870's gold, silver and copper mines. The desert is rich with the rocks and wildlife which inspire our work.

Most everything we sell is made from natural materials. Most of our stones come from rocks we find ourselves or from “rough” that we purchase from reputable local and international dealers. We do not use synthetic materials; the only exception to this is our Swarovski crystal from Austria or hand-crafted lampwork or raku or other special beads that we buy from other artisans around the world. We like being hands-on; nothing is mass-produced although we constantly work to streamline our processes to meet demand while maintaining the integrity of our hand-crafted, individually designed pieces.

We hope our work conveys our reverence for Mother Nature and her many and varied “stone children.” Our signature pieces reveal at least one facet in the rough to let Mother Nature’s natural handiwork show through.

Janra Ranch does not have a storefront nor any retail locations. Our sales are primarily through juried fine art & craft shows, website sales, selected retail stores, and word of mouth.
